For example, an automobile site wouldn't use nautical themes or photographs since they wouldn't promote a sense of harmony or unity for car shoppers.
Balance - Each item on a page has a visual weight, be it a text block, photograph or a logo, all of which must be arranged in a visually balanced manner. When a page is unbalanced, it gives the visitor a sense of tension.
